Content Marketing is hugely important no matter how large or small your business is.
Every business marketing plan should have a certain amount of money and time allocated to content marketing. According to Curata’s third annual content marketing benchmark study 71% plan to, or have already increased their content marketing budgets in 2014.
What is Content Marketing?
It is the process of creating and then sharing valuable, relevant and engaging written content to attract and engage a target audience online. The goal of content marketing is to acquire new customers and/or increase your bottom line from existing customers.
Online content is produced for three main purposes:
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- To convince your visitors to purchase your products
- To be shared with as many people as possible
Businesses used to have to spend a lot of money on advertising (print, radio, TV, bulk mailings, etc) in order to make money.
Content marketing destroys that way of thinking, and that is a great concept for small business owners on a budget.
Valuable and relevant content provided will be shared and that is much more powerful than paid advertising any day. It will help with your business credibility, your SEO, and will bring you more visitors and potential buyers. They in turn will share your content and so on… You get the picture!
The best way to implement content marketing is to make your own content as relevant as possible. You need to know exactly what your visitors are looking for. Once they find your valuable content, they will naturally want to share your great articles so you need to make it easy for them to do so. Content marketing is one of the best ways to market your small business on a low budget!
What kind of content could be valuable?
- Case studies
- Client testimonials or stories
- Product reports and engaging pictures
- Anything that helps your customers with a problem, gives them more insight or inspires them to act!
Don’t miss out! Content marketing can bring a lot of value to your business!
