Picking only five small business articles to share every month is harder than I thought.
There is such a huge amount of great content to choose from it’s difficult to know which ones to include. I did my best to try to find a mix of topics that hopefully every one of my readers will enjoy. The February 2015 blog round up includes articles on business ideas, blog topics, business start-ups, web design and Twitter tips.
Every month I will share 5 blog posts with relevant information specifically for small business owners. Since I’m a member of the Triberr community I will choose these articles from my ‘Marketing ideas that work…‘ stream. 1.) How To Get Great Business Ideas
George Meszaros is the editor and co-founder of Success Harbor dedicated where he documents the entrepreneurial journey . In this article George shares his tips on taking a business from idea to entrepreneurship. He starts out by looking at the correct and incorrect ways to think about business ideas.
He then answers many of the questions you might have about coming up with a business idea. From listing your skills, what you can do to improve them (including practical examples), ways to find out if the market is ready for your idea, if it is profitable and what risk factors might be involved. He also includes a checklist to see the viability of your business idea.
2.) 17 Secrets To Creating Awesome Blog Topics
Ever writer and blogger has been there. You’re stumped for awesome blog topics and you’re not sure how to come up with any. Julia Mccoy from Express Writers put together an awesome article on different ways you can come up with blog topics. Here are just three of them:
- Use “Trigger” Words to Pique Interest.
- Keep a File of Ideas for the Future.
- Utilize Google Alerts for Great Resources and Ideas.
In this article you will not only learn how to generate engaging blog topics but you will also receive tips and best practices along with it.
3.) Should You Quit Your Day Job for Your Start-up Business?
Cynthia Kocialski maintains a start-up entrepreneurs’ blog and in this particular article she gives us two examples where someone started their new business as a side activity. Should an entrepreneurs quit their day job when starting a business? That’s a good questions! This article certainly had me thinking.
4.) What To Do Before You Call A Web Designer
Eric Rowen, the owner of a small web design firm Silver 6 Media shares some tips with you to help your next website project go as smoothly and efficiently as possible. In this article Eric shares a way that dramatically increases the chances that your website will be a smooth and successful (even fun) project. He provides very clear step-by-step directions on what you should do to be prepared when sitting down with a web designer. If you follow his steps you will have a good sense of what you are looking for in a website and how to get the project done in a timely manner.
5.) Twitter Design (Headers, Examples, Dimensions & Inspiration)
This comprehensive Twitter design guide has been written by Alan from Glasgow Advertising. In his own words he has “put together the ultimate guide to design your Twitter profile like the pros, to establish yourself on one of the biggest social networks on the planets, and ultimately showoff”. The article has been broken down into the following categories:

This is just a very small sampling of the hundreds, if not thousands, of awesome small business articles that were published in February of 2015.
